Under 13 Red 7/5
Hey guys, it's Brent here from the Division Three red team under Thirteen's. Today we played the Northshore jets, which we knew it was going to be a tough game. These guys actually won the Division Three grand final last year, and that have two straight wins so far and they pumped the teams they played. So when you're in for a big battle, and it definitely was Northshore ended up winning 16 goals 14 - 110, unfortunately we didn't score. The kids were absolutely amazing. You kind of expect kids to give up after a while but they just kept digging in, playing man on man, contested footy, they didn't stop trying, which was amazing. I think in the end, even though we lost, the parents were amazed at how much the kids just never gave up. Which is a great sign.
Our best players would have been Ellis who who played on the wing. He was one of our award winners he is kind of new to footy but just kept linking up kept getting the ball second efforts was really good to see. Mason played in the midfield. Same deal with him just burrowed in and kept tackling, chasing everything you want. And Kai played in the backline this time, something new for him. He's normally on the started on the wing, but went into the backline he was great in the background. He probably saved four or five goals himself. He actually beat his player playing in the backline which was great to see.
Overall, all the kids were fantastic, they didn't stop trying, hopefully we have another great week on the track. They trained really hard last week and we concentrated on contested footy which you could see paid off. Even though it wasn't the win. It was you can see they're a lot better when they're contested footy. We'll have another good training session this week and bring on next week. Thanks guys.
